How to Choose the Correct Battery Size

To choose the right battery, check four things:

1. Size: match the physical size (e.g. 18650, AA, CR123A).
2. Voltage: use the voltage your device specifies — do not substitute a 3.7V cell where 1.5V is required.
3. Terminal type: button top vs flat top matters for some torches and packs.
4. Protected/unprotected: choose protected cells unless your device provides protection.
