18650 Battery Safety Guide
18650 lithium-ion cells are safe and reliable when handled correctly. Follow these guidelines:
- Use a quality Li-ion charger; never leave charging cells unattended for long periods.
- Prefer protected cells unless your device or pack provides its own protection circuit.
- Do not discharge below the cell's minimum voltage (typically 2.5V–3.0V).
- Transport loose cells in a case; never let terminals touch keys or coins.
- Retire any cell with a damaged wrap, dents or swelling.
